Where there are pipelines carrying hazardous chemicals, there is a risk however small that may be, that the pipe flange connection fails and the liquid in the pipeline leaks out creating a potential splash hazard to nearby operation personnel.
The “Saffix” system is a simple design that consists of a hook-and-loop belt that allows in situ installation that does not require any special tools that ensures that any jet is directed along the pipeline away from personnel in the vicinity. The soft fabric in contact with the flange contains tiny micro loops that act as a “sponge” soaking up liquid and helping to direct the jet axially along the pipeline.
Saffix is designed for pipe flange connections confirming to both ANSI/ASME flange standards for different connection sizes.
Saffix is available in three different materials of construction:
SFX-PP made from transparent polypropylene
SFX-TF made from polyamide with integral PTFE blocking film
SFX-KEA-** designed for plastic, enamelled, or lined pipelines
SFX-**-Ex special design fitted with anti-static device for Hazardous “Ex” areas
Through fitting this simple device, it is possible to improve the health and safety of operating plants using hazardous chemicals in transfer lines.
